Although all of the above components are covered by the policy, certain terms, conditions and exclusions apply. Firstly, any component that is not listed above is excluded from the cover. Please be aware that general exclusions may apply, so you should read the Policy Handbook carefully. If you require any further information, then please contact us.
FAQs
Do new BMW bikes come with a manufacturer warranty?
All new BMW motorcycles come with a three-year manufacturer warranty. However, once this has expired, you’ll be responsible for covering the cost of repairs and replacement parts if something goes wrong. This is where a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty comes in. Once your manufacturer warranty has expired, this policy can help to protect you if something goes wrong with a covered component. It will cover the cost of replacement parts and repairs up to the market value of the insured motorcycle at the time of the claim, or up to a maximum £1,000 – whichever is greater – inclusive of VAT.
After purchasing an Insured Warranty, how long am I covered for?
The length of cover depends on the type of policy you choose. You can either select 12-month annual cover or take out an ongoing monthly policy.
Is cover available for motorbikes with a mileage of over 80,000 miles?
Sadly, you cannot purchase a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty if your motorcycle has covered more than 80,000 miles at the time of purchase. However, you can still purchase BMW Motorrad Roadside Assistance cover.
When you purchase our Insured Warranty product, you can choose to take out your policy with or without an excess. The excess amount is payable if you make a claim under your policy, and you can choose an excess of £0, £50 or £100. The higher the excess amount you choose for your policy, the lower your premium will be.
What is the maximum claims limit?
The claim limit for a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty is the market value of the insured motorcycle at the time of claim, or up to a maximum £1,000 (whichever is greater), inclusive of VAT.
Is Roadside Assistance included with this policy?
When you take out a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty, our Roadside Assistance cover is not included. However, you do receive Warranty Assistance as standard. This means that if you suffer from a breakdown more than half a mile away from your home, we will arrange assistance for you. Whenever practical, we will endeavour to arrange assistance by a BMW Customer Service Vehicle, but if the problem cannot be resolved at the roadside, we will cover the costs of taking your motorcycle to the nearest authorised BMW Motorrad Retailer or BMW Motorrad Service Workshop. However, if you require more comprehensive emergency cover, then you can add Roadside Assistance to your policy. This will then provide you with assistance for motoring emergencies and comes with a comprehensive range of benefits.

If you would like to transfer the balance of your annual policy, then you’ll need to fill out the Transfer of Ownership request form in the Policy Handbook . Please note that monthly policies are not transferable, and cover is not transferable from a motor retailer to a customer.
All Insured Warranty repairs must be carried out by an authorised BMW Motorrad Retailer or BMW Motorrad Service Workshop. So, if you intend to make a claim under your policy, you’ll need to contact your nearest authorised BMW Motorrad Retailer or BMW Motorrad Service Workshop and inform them that your motorcycle is protected by a BMW Motorrad Insured Warranty.
